Frankly, I was always a bit apprehensive about FATXplorer - who knows what kind of terrible fate it might bring? But I've been doing my research, and after reading over the release notes, it seems that there are no new bugs or anything problematic in this release. Considering that I've found no other faults with it so far, this is probably safe to use. There's also the fact that FATXplorer does seem to have some benefits. For one, you can recover deleted files, which is most beneficial for those who've lost data. It's also easy to use, which is great for casual users who just want to view their data. And finally, the most concerning issue - the malware problem. I'm not sure if this is still happening with this release or not (I don't think it does), but if it hasn't been taken care of already, it's sure like something else has managed to make its way into FATXplorer. Whatever the case may be, I'm still wary of using it; or at least that's my opinion now that all that's known about the program. When I used FATXplorer, it had an option to encrypt files - while I can't say for sure that it's malicious, it still makes me wary to use the program. First of all, if it's got encryption features, then there are other ways for people to get your data other than just through FATXplorer. Secondly, I think that it should be fairly obvious that if you try to encrypt files on your computer... And finally, the biggest issue is the password protection. While this program does seem to have its uses - namely that you can recover deleted files or your ROMs or what have you - there are better options out there that don't require you to go through these hassles. Overall, I think this software's main purpose is to provide you with shortcuts to your data, but for this purpose, it's not really up to par. If you're one of those people who loves ROMs and data recovery, then you're bound to find some use for it; if not, then by all means go elsewhere! FATXplorer is basically a way for users to view their files that are saved on their computer in an easy-to-use interface - I'm not sure how many people can say they've tried using other ROM organizers... but hey. It works the same way as the others (you know - seeing your files, etc. ); it's just not really necessary. The interface isn't the best - it's very clunky, with the files on your computer being listed all over at once. The look is also a bit outdated, though if you have a smaller screen, then I'm sure you won't mind at all. Then again, there are other ROM organizers out there that are much more visually appealing - if that's what you're after! If you've read my previous reviews, I've mentioned that I use Ninite to download programs for me - but FATXplorer has made an appearance on their download queue. That means here's where things may get tricky... not only do I have to make sure this program isn't malicious... eccc085e13
